Re-opening of Township Halls and Community Centres

For Immediate Release:

Effective Friday, July 16th, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., Ontario will enter Step 3 of the Roadmap to Reopen. South-West Oxford Township’s Halls and Community Centres will be permitted to re-open for rentals in Step 3. Rental patrons/occupants must follow all COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, including, but not limited to:

  • Self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure
  • Mandatory masks/non-medical face coverings
  • Social distancing of two (2) meters per occupant
  • Contact tracing

Maximum Capacity - Facilities

Each Hall/Community Centre facility has its own maximum capacity, which will remain in effect until further notice:

  • Brownsville Hall/Community Centre: 25 occupants
  • Dereham Centre Hall: 20 occupants
  • Foldens (West Oxford) Hall: 25 occupants
  • Mount Elgin Hall/Community Centre: 25 occupants
  • Salford Hall/Community Centre: 25 occupants
  • Sweaburg Lions Pavilion: 11 occupants

Parks and Playgrounds

Township play structures, sports fields, parks and picnic areas remain open for use. Outdoor public gatherings are restricted to a total of 100 people maximum. Residents are reminded that self-screening is recommended, and marks are not mandatory provided physical distancing of 2 meters between occupants is maintained.

The Township reminds residents that outdoor recreational amenities are not cleaned and disinfected. Individuals using these spaces should continue to limit contact with surfaces as much as possible and wash their hands thoroughly after using these spaces.

Municipal Office

Effective Tuesday, July 7th, 2021 the Township’s Municipal Office re-opened to the public. Appointments continue to be encouraged to ensure staff are available to assist you. Residents are asked to self-screen before entering any Township facility. All COVID-19 safety protocols including mandatory face coverings and social distancing will continue to be followed.
