Roads |
The Township maintains and builds Township roads.

Trees
|
The Township cuts trees and trims branches that are located on Township owned property, including on municipal highways and municipal right of ways.

The County of Oxford enforces the Woodlands Conservation By-Law. The County of Oxford cuts trees and trims branches that are located on County owned property, including on County maintained highways and municipal right of ways.

Building and Construction
|
The Township is responsible for enforcing the Ontario Building Code Act.
|
The County of Oxford is not involved in enforcing the Building Code Act.
|
|
Garbage & Recycling
|
The Township collects garbage and recycling from residences and businesses in the Township boundaries.
|
The Salford Landfill is managed by the County of Oxford. The County of Oxford completes large article collection and produces the Waste Line books which are circulated to all residents in the County.

|
Planning and Development
|
The Township processes Zoning By-Law amendments, Minor Variance Applications, and Site Plan Control Applications. The Township provides interpretation of the Zoning By-Law.

Land Severances (Consents) are administered by the County of Oxford Land Division Committee. Official Plan Amendments and Subdivision Applications are administered by the County of Oxford.

Other agencies including other road authorities, railways, utilities, and conservation authorities are commenting agencies.

Municipal Water and Wastewater Services
|
The Township does not provide water and wastewater services. The Township will issue permits on behalf of the County for connecting to the County-managed municipal system.

The County of Oxford is responsible for the management of Water and Wastewater services.
|
|
Private Septic Systems and Private Wells
|
The Township does not issue septic system permits. The Township offers water bottles for testing of private wells.
|
The County of Oxford Public Health Unit is responsible for septic system permits and records of existing systems.
|
|
Fire and Emergency Services
|
The Township has a Volunteer Fire Service which includes three stations located throughout the Township. The Township is also responsible to Township Emergency Management. The Township issues burn permits.

The County of Oxford manages EMS (paramedic) services and has Emergency Management Planning for the entire County. The County does not issue Burn Permits.

|
Taxes
|
The Township collects taxes on behalf of the Township, the County of Oxford, and for education.
|
The County of Oxford does not collect tax payments directly, but instead funds are remitted by the Township to the County.
|
|
Human Services
|
The Township does not provide Human Services.
|
The County of Oxford provides Human Services to residents of the entire County including financial help, social assistance like Ontario Works, shelter and housing, child care, and the Ontario Disability Support Program.

|
Health and Long-Term Care
|
The Township does not provide health and long term care services.
|
The County of Oxford provides health services (including inspections) and has long term care facilities.
|
|
Animal Control
|
The Township enforces the Township's animal control By-Law for dogs and livestock killed by predation.
|
The County of Oxford does not enforce animal control.
|
Wildlife concerns are the responsibility of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
|
Libraries
|
The Township does not manage libraries, although County library services are available to Township residents at library locations across the municipality.

The County of Oxford manages the library system across the County.
