Recreational Vehicle Parking in Residential Zones

In February, 2019 Council approved changes to the General Provisions section of the Township of South-West Oxford Zoning By-law as it relates to parking recreational vehicles in residential zones. These changes permit a recreational vehicle to be parked on a driveway in a residential zone between May 1st and November 1st each year. The following conditions apply:

  • Any recreational vehicle is parked or stored outside of a garage in the front yard, must maintain a minimum setback of 3.0 m from the front lot line
  • No portion of any trailer may overhand a front, side or rear yard lot line; 
  • The height of any parked or stored recreational vehicle is limited to a maximum of 4.14 m (measured from the finished grade to the highest fixed point of the recreational vehicle); 
  • A recreational vehicle may be parked in the rear yard or interior side yard provided that the recreational vehicle is located no closer than 1 m to the rear or intetior side lot line.
